Roosky Standing Stone, Clonmany

Standing Stone, Roosky

While the Standing Stone at Roosky in itself is not unique it is the other associations at this area which mark a special place.

There is an extensive Souterrain in this area hinting at a larger settlement.

Local tradition said that “a Dane was buried here” and in fact in 1966 Viking bracelets were found at the site, again these are now in the National Museum.

There is also an ancient manuscript associated with this site.
